UVSafe, by Black Albinism
Know before you step outside.
Real-time UV, sun safety you can act on, and a route to care. Built for people with albinism, across Africa.
Sun protection should be a right, not a privilege. Everything here is free to use and works on a cheap phone.

Assume high. Sunscreen, a wide brim, long sleeves and UV400 lenses are the right answer on any day you cannot check.

UV data from Open-Meteo. Guidance is written for skin without melanin, so protection scales with the reading, it never switches off.
What UVSafe is
A sun service, not a weather app.
Standard public advice says no protection is needed below index 3. That advice is written for people who produce melanin, and it is wrong for a person with albinism. UVSafe reads the live index where you are and tells you what to do about it, and it never tells you that you are safe to go uncovered.
Behind the dashboard we are building the rest: a directory of hospitals running the national sunscreen programme, a referral route to dermatology and eye care, a verified sunscreen guide, and a moderated community. Each piece goes live the day it actually works, and not before.
Hospitals, referrals and the sunscreen guide are being verified
