Rising heat and UV exposure endanger people with albinism, Stand for justice.

BLACK ALBINISM
Across Africa, people with albinism face exclusion, discrimination, and limited access to education, employment, and healthcare. Many are at high risk of skin cancer due to inadequate sun protection, while social stigma further deepens their marginalization. Black Albinism is fighting to change this—championing dignity, opportunity, and true inclusion.

Social Inclusion.

We work to break barriers that exclude people with albinism from education, employment, and public life. By promoting equal opportunities, economic empowerment, and accessible resources, we ensure that individuals with albinism can fully participate in society with dignity and respect.

Climate Justice & Health Protection.

People with albinism face severe health risks due to climate change, including increased UV exposure leading to skin cancer. We advocate for climate policies that consider their unique needs, promote access to protective healthcare, and ensure they are not left behind in environmental action.

Advocacy & Awareness Creation

We champion the rights of people with albinism through policy engagement, legal reforms, and public awareness campaigns. By challenging stigma, influencing legislation, and amplifying voices, we drive systemic change and promote a more inclusive society.

In our latest activity at Baraza Media Lab's Africa Media Festival, Black Albinism joined a powerful discussion on how podcasting can drive social inclusion, visibility, and advocacy for people with albinism. Alan Herbert, Tracy Ochieng, Faith Musyoki, and Sharon Ireri led conversations on using digital platforms to challenge stereotypes, fight stigma, and amplify authentic voices.“How do we create a supportive ecosystem for authentic voices?” Alan Herbert posed this critical question, sparking discussions on representation, digital literacy, and inclusive media spaces.By equipping individuals with albinism with storytelling tools, this workshop reinforced podcasting as a platform for breaking barriers, shifting perceptions, and ensuring true inclusion. Because every voice deserves to be heard.
